The Product on!
(Unfortunately not the best light!)
To give it its full title the Limited Edition Sculpt & Boost Eyebrow Cushion.
I was very lucky to be treated to this product by my other half, during the black Friday sales, (why can't there be a black Friday every month!) After seeing this everywhere online for the last couple of weeks I was really excited to give it a go!
Just to give you a bit of background, I am obsessed with my eyebrows! I am probably one of those girls who spends longer on my eyebrows than my hair! Even when I up at 6am for a long day of work, I always save sometime to get them into a presentable state!
This is the first cushion product I have tried as I am yet to try a cushion foundation. To be honest when I first saw it, it did strike me as being a bit gimmicky, but giving its normal price tag of £26.99, I really hoped it wasn't.
It is housed in a stunning champagne-gold mirrored box. It comes with the product itself, a fold out duo ended brush and a mirror. The product contain Vitamin E which is linked to stimulating hair growth.
I usually bin the brush or sponge which comes with any product, but I have heard that its not too bad so I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. When using a pomade I usually use the Anastasia of Beverly Hills #12. This brush in comparison is less dense and appears larger in width. Its was good at brushing on the product and would be good for traveling, but I think I prefer my #12 as I can rely on it for a straighter line, a sharper pointer tail! The spooley I loved! It has one side with longer bristles than the other. My goodness did this brush my brows.
The product I picked was the shade medium. Unfortunately there is only three colour choices, light, medium and dark. I'm very fair normally an NC15. Naturally I have light brown hair but currently it is dye bright blonde. I was tempted to go for the shade light but the taupe colour looked as if it had a green tinge and I do prefer a darker brow. On the left of the cushion is the colour Fawn a lighter brown colour compared to Ash on the right.
I went in with Fawn first drawing the shape and filling it in. I added depth though the tail end with Ash. The colour, I like it, although i would prefer it to be a little lighter. The colour appear to darken from the original colour I put on, but maybe I was a little heavy handed, I will go one with a light hand next time. Its a thinner consistency to what I was expecting, but it made it easier to draw and fill in the shape.
You get 6g of product compared with my Anastasia Pomade you get an extra 2g, and my goodness is that cushion saturated. You barely need to touch the cushion to cover your brush in that pigmented goodness. The only downside is that I can imagine that the product could dry out quickly, especially if the air tight lid is not closed properly.
The product has staying power which I loved, who enjoys ending the day with their brows half way down their faces! Not me! It almost look like a stain especially when I swatched it on my hand. So would be gym and long shift friendly.
Overall I like the product. It's travel friendly, the packaging is stunning. But personally I would not use this product on a day to day basis it looks too heavy. I prefer a more natural looking brow but for a night out it would be perfect.
Is it worth the price tag? Probably not. If it was priced £5 cheaper it would be. I just feel its just a little too much. Most brow products are priced around the £20 mark, and drugstore even less. It looks as if the product could be removed from the packaging, will there be cheaper refills?
Would I repurchase? Probably not. But I would be tempted if there was a wider selection of colours. Especially one between light and medium which I wear both naturally and more full on.
